Our story

Welcome to Clever Girl Flowers! I’m Laura, and this is our family run flower garden located in Columbus, Minnesota just north of the Twin Cities. We began with an idea for a flower oasis, which has quickly turned into an explosion (and expansion) of blooms. Our focus is on fresh and local flowers that enhance the beauty of daily life.

I fell into flower gardening after moving to the north metro. Like many others, I began working from home consistently when the pandemic hit. The lack of commute opened up a new world for me - instead of spending time driving to Minneapolis, I could simply walk outside and soak in the beauty around us. Flowers filled a void I didn’t know was there, and our daughters love getting their hands dirty with my husband and I!

Fresh, local and seasonal flowers have always held a wonder for me - from growing up with yellow roses in the house for my Texan mom, to lilies for Springtime, poinsettias for winter and the bright orange California poppies in the backyard (CA girl here!), flowers have always marked a change in seasons and a new opportunity to welcome beauty into the everyday. I love sharing this with others, and starting new growth with the promise of explosive blooms brings a warmth to these Minnesota winters.

It’s important to us that we have a friendly and welcoming environment for our smallest friends in nature. Our pollinator friendly garden not only supports a living ecosystem above the soil, but below as well, and our flowers reflect that. From amaranth to cosmos, dahlias to peonies, tulips to zinnias and everything in between - we have the arrangements you are looking for!
